North Carolina FAQ
Q: What is MASN?
A: The Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) is a regional sports network owned by the Baltimore Orioles and Washington Nationals that provides fans with unmatched access to both teams and to local sports programming.
MASN carries over 160 Orioles games and over 160 Nationals games live every season, as well as expert insight and analysis in pre-game and post-game shows before and after every game.
MASN has a robust package of NCAA football and men's basketball- over 250 games every season including many of North Carolina's best athletic programs. MASN also features the best of the A-10, America East, Big 12, Big East, Big South, CAA, C-USA, MAAC, MAC, NEC, Patriot, Southern and WAC conferences. MASN televises several magazine and coaches shows for dozens of colleges and universities throughout the region.
MASN is also the Official Cable Sports Network of the Baltimore Ravens, carrying NFL programming - in primetime - throughout the fall.
Q: What programming does MASN offer to North Carolina fans?
A: In addition to 322 Major League Baseball games, MASN currently offers sports fans in North Carolina maximum access to your local teams. MASN carries over 200 NCAA Men's basketball games featuring East Carolina, UNC-Charlotte, Appalachian State, UNC-Wilmington, NC State, Davidson, Winthrop, Gardner-Webb, Coastal Carolina, Wake Forest, Elon, UNC-Asheville and High Point.

Q: Why are the Orioles and Nationals considered a "local" team?
A: Since 1981, Major League Baseball has designated much of North Carolina to be part of the Orioles television territory. From 1981 to 2006, Orioles games were televised in North Carolina by two networks, Home Team Sports and Fox Sports Net. Both of these networks were carried on basic cable.
Since 2007, MASN is the television home of the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Nationals. Because Time Warner and Suddenlink refuse to carry MASN, they prevent baseball fans from watching the nightly Major League Baseball they have watched for 25 years.
Q: Is anyone in North Carolina carrying MASN?
A: Yes -- twelve million viewers have access to the network because twenty-three fan-friendly providers throughout the region, including DirecTV, DISH Network, Mediacom, Charter, MI Connections, Reds Cable, and Tri County Cable carry MASN.

Q: Why can't I watch MASN in North Carolina?
A: Time Warner Cable and Suddenlink are blacking out MASN by refusing to carry the network and denying thousands of hours of sports programming and over 630 professional and collegiate sports broadcasts to millions of North Carolina sports fans.
Q: What can I do to convince Time Warner and Suddenlink to end their blackout of MASN?
A few years ago, Comcast Cable refused to carry MASN. But when Comcast's customers began speaking out - to the company, to elected officials, and to the FCC - Comcast was convinced to do the right thing and carry MASN to its customers.
Contact Time Warner and Suddenlink directly - by sending an email and making a phone call
Contact your elected officials - your local, state, and federal elected officials work for you and these officials can bring additional pressure on Time Warner and Suddenlink to do the right thing.
Contact the FCC - the FCC regulates the cable companies and can compel Time Warner and Suddenlink to carry MASN
File a consumer complaint - Time Warner Cable and Suddenlink must have permits (called a franchise) to provide cable service in North Carolina. The Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division oversees consumer complaints and you can find a form to fill out on their website.
Contact the Media- Help spread the word by letting your local newspapers know that you want Time Warner and Suddenlink to Play Ball Now!
