North Carolina Lawmakers Urge FCC to Make Decision to Return MLB to NC
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) --- The national pastime has united North Carolina lawmakers in common cause in the effort to bring baseball back to their constituents in the Tarheel state. In a rare bipartisan and bicameral letter, six members of the delegation called on FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski to make a decision on an appeal that has been stalled before his commission for more than 14 months.
A decision by the five-member Commission to uphold three previous independent rulings would pave the way for more than a million households in North Carolina to be able to watch nightly Major League Baseball on their cable provider, Time Warner Cable.

FCC's Media Bureau Orders Time Warner to Carry MASN Within 30 Days
The FCC's Media Bureau has ordered Time Warner Cable to carry MASN on an analog tier to its North Carolina cable systems within 30 days, upholding the decisions of two separate arbitrators which had found Time Warner Cable guilty of discrimination against MASN.
According to the order, "TWC violated the program carriage statute and rules by discriminating against MASN on the basis of affiliation, and that such discrimination unreasonably restrained the ability of MASN to compete fairly."
FCC-Appointed Arbitrator Orders Carriage of MASN on Time Warner Cable in North Carolina
A second FCC-appointed arbitrator has found Time Warner Cable guilty of discrimination against an independent sports network and has ordered that the network be carried by the cable company to more than one million North Carolina households.
The second consecutive arbitration decision against the cable operator dramatically punctuates its years-long campaign of discrimination against MASN, the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network, and paves the way for the return of Major League Baseball and North Carolina sports programming to more than one million North Carolina Time Warner cable subscribers.
The Arbitrator's decision came after two days of testimony, with a full presentation of evidence and the examination of witnesses. It further builds the case against Time Warner Cable in its efforts to deny local sports programming to its customers that is available on other cable and satellite services in North Carolina.
