MASN Announces Extensive NCAA Hoops Package
MASN, the local leader in live sports entertainment, will televise nearly 200 college basketball games this season. The extensive lineup includes regional favorites, 12 conferences, 19 women's games, 12 Big East Games of the Week in HD, the BB&T Classic including a feature game between Maryland and Villanova and additional appearances by eight of the nation's top-ranked teams. MASN will also be home to MAAC men's and women's tournament action, as well as the Big South women's tournament in March.
As the official network of Georgetown University basketball, MASN will air nine Hoyas games this season. Led by head coach John Thompson III, the Hoyas are ranked 20th in the Associated Press pre-season poll. Georgetown first appears on MASN on Saturday, November 28th when they host Lafayette live at 12:00 p.m. MASN will also carry two Georgetown women's games, as well as part of the Big East Women's Tournament in the spring.
MASN is also the Official Cable Network of George Mason basketball with seven live games this season. The Patriots make their first appearance of the season on MASN on December 2nd when they travel to George Washington at 7:00 p.m.
MASN is also home to the 15th annual BB&T Classic, the annual showcase of the region's most talented young players. The Classic takes place on Sunday, December 6th when Navy faces George Washington at 5:00 p.m., and culminates with a showdown between Maryland and Villanova at 7:30 p.m at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C.
MASN, the home of Carolina's live local sports, will televise 26 NCAA basketball games this season featuring 23 men's contests. MASN will televise 13 of North and South Carolina's most impressive NCAA athletic programs including Wake Forest, East Carolina, Appalachian State, Coastal Carolina, UNC-Asheville, Gardner Webb, NC State, UNC-Wilmington, Western Carolina, High Point, Winthrop, UNC-Charlotte and Charleston Southern.
Twelve conferences featured on MASN this season include the A-10, America East, Big 12, Big East, Big South, C-USA, CAA, Horizon League, MAAC, NEC, Patriot League and WAC.
Starting January 2nd, MASN brings fans the premier Big East Game of the Week in crisp high definition. In total, MASN will televise more than 102 Big East games with annual favorites Villanova, Louisville, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Connecticut and more.
MASN will also carry college coaches' shows from around the region including Inside Basketball with Duke's Coach K, ECU's Mack McCarthy Show, NC State's Sidney Lowe Show, Rutgers' Fred Hill Show, Marshall's Donnie Jones Show, Penn State's Ed DeChellis Show, Notre Dame's Mike Brey Show, Villanova's Jay Wright Show and West Virginia's Bob Higgins Show.
